Have the English ever touched something without fucking it up? That the Americans haven't then made worse for perverted and insane reasons?

The author, despite having significant personal connections to the history being told, is extremely even handed in detailing the faults of all parties involved.

The whole thing is enraging.

Incredibly dense, but gives much needed context to the creation of the state of Israel and how deeply it has disenfranchised Palestinians. I appreciated how the author explained the ulterior motives of global leaders and the layers of deceit that have gone into convincing the world that Israel exists for the benefit of the Jewish people, when in reality this is used as a cover for these same countries' antisemitism and geopolitical agendas. Take it slow with this one.

I highly recommend this book. Well written nonfiction with a quick but not overwhelming pace. The Israel-Palestine issues may seem exhausting and extensive, but he breaks them down into easy to follow eras. The issue is actually not that difficult to comprehend and vital to understand- Free Palestine.

I enjoyed the parts about the author's life and family most, but the historical context was also enlightening. A bit dense, but consequently full of information.
