What a wonderful read during the holiday season. Nigel Slater shares personal Information such as writing early in the morning by candlelight and his love for the cold alongside every bit of Christmas knowledge you could ever want to know. Sharing his journey through Christmas markets in Europe as well as inviting us into his cozy home in England, I learned about every sort of Christmas cake and cookies as well as other wonderful creations to create through the holidays. The recipes are in metric but can easily be converted or altered to your taste as well as beautiful photos to entice.

Immerse yourself in winter festivities with this delightful book. It's as if Nigel is talking to you directly himself sharing not only his delicious recipes but also interesting stories (e.g. his Christmas Market trips abroad), facts (e.g. all about Christmas cards) and tips (e.g. Furoshiki the art of wrapping gifts in cloth). In my opinion you can't go wrong with a cookbook by Nigel, his recipes never fail and you get so much more than just recipes too.
