This book had me curious enough to keep reading to find out how everything came together. However, the writing itself was fairly mediocre. Everything was written simplistically: emotions, context, backstory. And throughout most of the book, I kept thinking, "I don't think it would happen like that in real life." Situations unfolded too easily or too quickly in many instances. The simple writing is not justified by the age of the target reading audience, either.

A very easy, quick and enthralling read. This book wasn't easy to stop reading, but was also good at sending me into my imagination as I attempted to solve the murder with Olivia.

This book gave me a little book hangover, It really pulled me into the Author's world, like a good stew it stuck with me for a while!

Quick, entertaining YA read.
It was pretty suspenseful.
A teenagers mother is murdered when she's 3. She learns at 17 that her father (who was long suspected as the murderer) didn't do it.
She egos back to where it all started to find out who did.
The protagonist is smart and tough without being a cliche. She has layers under her hard shell.
I saw the authors other books in the library. I'm going to check them out next.

I love all of April Henry’s books! They’re so exciting and always a quick read. Little disappointed with who the culprit was, as it didn’t really tie in with the story, but overall the storyline was interesting and suspenseful. 4/5
