Something I enjoy about this series is that the mysteries are all solved very efficiently. Clues are revealed at a steady pace, and there is absolutely no filling. It is like the author cut all the scenes where the characters are deliberating what they should do next and how and jumped into their investigations.

All the books in this series so far haven't held up to 2020's standards of what is offensive, but this one the most. There are a few moments that are distracting and took me out of the story.

This does deserve to lose a star for the ending, but I'll save that for the next book.

Another quick, fun read about Agatha Raisin and her ongoing pursuit of her neighbor, James Lacey. This book has quite a few old-fashioned stereotypes but was still very readable, especially the surprise ending!

Agatha Raisin and the Walkers of Dembley by M.C. Beaton

I love the Agatha Raisin series and this one is no exception. They're great easy reads with brilliant characters, especially the titular Agatha Raisin. The plots are excellent and I never normally work out who the culprit is.

There's always a character in M.C. Beaton books who sleeps with someone once and thinks they are now engaged.
