This book should be classified as humour because it's downright hilarious.
Robert Scott is not a devoted worshiper of ABBA. He comes across as somewhat of a passive fan, a person who can recognize the talent in the big hits, but is unafraid to let his honesty out. The writing is cheeky and daringly slashes through every song.
The book goes into every album in depth, an overview of the time period and what life stuff was happening behind the scenes for the band. Then it dives into every song, it's sales success, what it's about. He points out stupid/whacky lyrics or gimmicky sounds or when a song was a downright flop.
At first I was skipping the songs I didn't know, but I found it so funny the way he was so brutally honest about whether a song was good or not (subjectively).
This book features lots of great pictures of the band too, I think any ABBA fan will enjoy.
