Decent collection of 5 trades but nothing very special or memorable.

The book starts of with The Space Between, a collection of short stories with no overarching storyline. Each story is a tv episode. Problem is that there are simply not enough pages to tell a star trek story in a single issue and there are a lot of jumps and short cuts.

Intelligence Gathering, the next trade, is a little bit better. At least the end ties everything together.

The next 3 trades are Last Generation, Ghosts and Hive. Each of these tell one big story and with the amount of pages available succeed at making a coherent narrative. A little too convoluted in parts but enjoyable nonetheless.

I don't think Next Gen really lends itself to the Graphic Novel format. I found this to be wordy and dull. Not a fan.

I was looking for something that was easy reading with entertainment value. a Star Trek comic book borrowed from Hoopla seemed to be a good fit.

I struggled to finish this one. The story was interesting at first, but seemed to drag over the five total installments collected here. If this were a 200 page novel, I don't think I would have made it to the end. I give the story two stars.

The artwork was well-done. I enjoyed the art more than the story. I'm not an art critic, so this is simply based on my personal taste. I give the art four stars.

If this were a television episode, this is one that I'd be disappointed to see come on at the regular time. I love the series, but this didn't live up to my expectations.
