This is the type of book that I feel that I need to read more than once to fully appreciate, but it was lyrical and evocative and really made me want fancy honey and to sit down and read it over again. Each short story or poem in this collection was related to a sample of honey that the author tasted and then wrote something loosely inspired by.

I love Amal El-Mohtar's writing style but I'm not sure I'm a fan of this format. I much preferred stories over poems, but even then there's only a few stories I really loved. It was a bit of a struggle to finish this book as I didn't really like the plot-lessness.

Such a beautiful concept. I enjoyed the descriptions of the honeys. The words were equally as sweet.
