I can see why this book was turned into a mini series on Netflix. It read like a suspenseful show/movie.

Not only does The Snow Girl follow the story of a young girl who vanished during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, but it also follows the budding journalist who latched onto the story. It really allowed me, as the reader, to understand why she went to great lengths to try to find the missing girl.

Since this story takes place in the late 90s and early 2000s, there are a lot of technology references from the time, which was kind of fun.

I will say that this book could have used a better translator. Since the English version takes place in the U.S. and all characters are from the U.S., the British English really missed the mark. It felt unnatural and out of place. Also, the writing style itself felt disjointed. At times, it flowed smoothly and at other times it was choppy and rushed.
