This is a Simeon Grist novel....and it isn't. The closest I can come to describing what it *is*, is to say it begins where a crime novel and urban fantasy meet.....and then takes a hard left. If you try to force it to be like previous Grist mysteries, you will be disappointed. If you just let it be what it is, you will find it charming and funny and touching, and be disappointed as hell that Hallinan says there will be no sequel.
