I really liked this book but I feel rather melancholic after finishing it. On the one hand, it was really gratifying to see all the storylines which was being stretched out for the last three books finally come to fruition but on the other, it's also the last book fully written by Robert Jordan before he untimely passed away. Granted, I haven't read a lot of fantasy series before but he created the most captivating world I ever had the pleasure of knowing so far. Never before have I ever felt so invested in certain characters like I do in Wheel of Time and now I am just three books away from all of it coming to an end. While I have no doubt Sanderson will do a wonderful job wrapping it up, I will certainly miss the picturesque, sometimes meandering descriptions written by Jordan. As for the book itself without spoiling anything, It starts with another 100 page prologue which surprisingly had a lot of impactful events, slows down for a bit, then proceeds to wrap up all storylines except Egwene. We also get more Mat chapters and possibly the best Egwene chapter I have read in the series so far. Didn't have enough Rand if you ask me but he's my favorite so what I get is usually never enough anyway. Time to brace myself for the Sanderson books which I reckon to be emotional rollercoasters!
