As someone that has watched A LOT of Apollo 13 in her day and dreamed of going to space camp, this hit all the right notes: very entertaining premise, quirky but lovable characters, writing that had me cackling and plenty of

3.5 stars. This was fun and I liked both characters but the end was rushed and...odd. . Also, the issues with Jon's dad are never explained.
Spoiler
There's a random kidnapping plot that comes out of nowhere and then is resolved in just a few pages. I needed Reggie to do a lot more grovelingwinemakerssister's review against another edition

I was tempted to DNF early on - Reggie was a little too mean and Jon was a little too dude-bro/Golden Retriever. But you get used to them and learn why they act the way they do. However, I never did get the attraction between them - it felt more like the author wanted it to happen rather than it being a reality.
Both narrators were terrific.

This one was just as fun as Jen’s others. I loved the black cat/golden retriever match up and the adhd rep.

Kindle First picks are usually hit or miss. This one was definitely a big miss. The cover might be the best part of the novel. Deleting from my Kindle and hoping the next Kindle First I read is better.

A spitfire astronaut. A hunky Hollywood action hero. A steamy romantic comedy.
Regina Hayes, “Reggie,” is a NASA astronaut that is hardest on herself but also hard on anyone else who has the misfortune of being teamed up with her. After a PR disaster, she’ll do anything to get back into her boss’s good graces because her greatest aspiration is to be the first woman to walk on the moon. In her haste to make this happen, she agrees to “train” Hollywood action star, Jon Leo, famous for a campy action movie called Space Dude, for a more serious upcoming film. Complete opposites, Reggie and Jon start off at odds and the ensuing romance is both original and provocative.
While I was very intrigued by the premise and really enjoyed certain aspects of this book like the more scientific details and the quirky cosmonaut bff, ultimately it was a lot steamier and graphic than I prefer and was a bit of a miss for me. Still entertaining enough for me to stick it out, but not really my cup of tea.
