Looks at what gig work might look like on an alien world that humans settled. Interesting story with found family. Tongue is firmly in cheek at times with solid jabs at gig apps, hipsters, men with opinions on everything and more!

Graphics were amazing and made this a really enjoyable read. I loved the plot and the world. It was almost like an apocalypse trope but not, and the action was integrated so well. I would say that besides their quest for the gem, it felt like not much else happened. I did like the outside v inside (bubble), but I felt that they could’ve touched more on Tandem’s role in the world. I think that was what made this leave off on a mediocre note.

This has to be the most aggressively Millennial book I've ever read. Just the characters and the humor and having to work full time with a side gig to make rent even when there's an apocalypse on. I really enjoyed it, but I'm not sure it would land the same way for someone who wasn't a Millennial. It also has one of my favorite lampshade moments in a final villian confrontation. I laughed so hard!

This was a super fun and quick read. The satirical elements about the gig economy, late-stage capitalism, state surveillance, and social media were spot on and not too heavy handed. And the art style and color were visually stunning!

Thank you to Netgalley and Fiercereads for an arc of this graphic novel!

Based on the humor podcast, Bubble is about a dangerous world and the "bubble" communities that people live in, as well as the corporate Huntr app for monster hunters!

This was delightfully weird in the best possible way. There were some parts that I was completely cracking up about! It's so funny and unexpected. I really enjoyed the characters and how they interacted with each other! I liked the way the plot went and how everything turned out! I really enjoyed this quick read and am excited for the series to continue!

The one issue I had with this is that the only queer character is pansexual, and she is very promiscuous, which is a stereotype of pansexual people.
