This is book two in the Blood of Zeus series and yes you do have to read the previous book because it picks up where Heart of Fire ends.

WOW!! I loved the first book and I have loved the second book just as much.

The chemistry between Maximus and Kara is off the charts. The story was so very well done and I couldn't put down this book. This book has one heck of a cliffhanger!!!

I give this 5 out of 5.

”Kara. I’d cut my own heart out if its beats caused you pain. In a world where I’d have to exist without you, no knife would cut deep enough anyway.”

Just as quick a read as the first book was, but did miss some of the ‘spark’ and intensity that was present in book 1. It’s an okay follow up that does leave me excited for the next installment, but it’s a typical 2nd book to me and I was expecting a bit more of it to be honest. The development went a bit up and down instead of growing in a steady building pace.

Nonetheless, it was a fun and fast paced read to read in between and I’m curious to see how it’s all going down in the last installment.

Kara and Maximus are made for each other. The book pulls you in slowly and than hits you with all that yummy action that will keep you coming back for more like "what!"

I have been dying for this book since the moment I finished Blood of Zeus. Meredith Wild and Angel Payne completely knocked it out of the park with the second book in this series. The moment it starts you are transported right back to where things left off for Maximus and Kara and from there it is an never ending ride that will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

More secrets are revealed. We get more family. More mythology. A connection between Maximus and Kara that is only growing deeper and deeper. Their relationship should be forbidden. A demigod and a demon. One belongs to the heavens and the other to hell, yet their chemistry is explosive. Their love is beautiful.

If you haven’t started this series I HIGHLY recommend it, even if paranormal romance isn’t your thing, you will still love this story and get lost in the world that Meredith Wild and Angel Payne have so beautifully created. I can’t wait to see how their story continues in book 3!

The second book was just as good as the first. It’s actually a little bit better. Learning more about Maximum’s background give whole new light to his character. Seeing how the backgrounds of the two effects their relationship is great. The constant tug of war of good and evil!!! All new mythology and its sexy!!!

This one picks up directly from the first book Blood of Zeus which I love when they continue on so you know exactly what has already occurred and what to look forward to next!

This series went so far off the plot. Nothing really happens in the second book either for their relationship, or finding out anything about the past. It's just a bunch of PR that culminates in an abduction. The first wasn't even good enough to have me overlooking how bad the second is to read the 3rd.

I just finished Heart of Fire and I can’t wait until May.

We get more Maximus and Kara and I love the relationship that they are building together. We learn more about Maximus, his mom, and his family. On the Kara front, they spend more time in the spotlight while waiting to see how their relationship is going to disturb Hades.

Just when you are enjoying Maximus and Kara’s time together - don’t let your guard down. You won’t believe what’s coming your way.

Love, love, love their story. Can’t wait too see what Book 3 brings us.
