I’m so glad I went into this knowing nothing but then discovered that it is totally Fullmetal Alchemist (aka my fav anime) inspired and even more specifically Roy Mustang (my fav anime man) x Riza Hawkeye fanfic. It made it all the much better.

I will say, this book is amazing on its own as well. The journey these characters went on was full of complex emotions and topics. It was wonderful.

I was super into it from the beginning on. The vibes are on point and perfect for fall! It's very cozy and not that much action happens except more towards the end but I enjoyed it that way, it was slowly building up. At the beginning I was confused about the time and world this happens in, as well as the "magic/alchemy system" To be honest I still haven't figured it out but I found it great to just go with the flow and ignore my confusion. Otherwise I have nothing bd to say about the book, I had a great time and I love how faceted the two main characters were. At one point I wrote in my notes app "please marry me weston winters" and I stand by that.
