All good things must come to an end... but does all change have to be bad?

So with last weekā€™s episode leaving off on a rather pivotal moment in the book i was quite eager to see what had become of Roman and his family. This episode relays heavily on Roman and his point of view, so we get to see things for a very different stand point. There might be some slight spoilers for those who havenā€™t read the first oneā€¦but Iā€™ve tried to keep most of it ambiguous so that you canā€™t tell specifically who or what Iā€™m referring to.

I personally enjoy the fact that Frater is working from lore and adding that danger back into the creatures of the night. Its clear that Roman is working very hard to maintain his humanity but I like that it only takes a moment for it to disappear again. I love the concept of having someoneā€™s state of mind determine how things like holy objects react to their presence, itā€™s a interesting little quirk. The fact that maintaining humanity is playing a big part in this reminds me a bit of Anne Riceā€™s Louie, who was always worried about going to far. Iā€™m finding that I enjoying Vanora the most in this, she feels like an ā€˜old soulā€™ and while at times the high maturity of her is a bit odd I like that she isnā€™t a kid whoā€™s going to scream at everything. Sheā€™s brave and not afraid to do what she needs to do in order to protect herself or her family.

I will say that Iā€™m a bit upset Iā€m not enjoying these as much as everyone else, itā€™s a bit odd to be only person below 4 stars on something. I honestly think it has to do with a pet peeve of mine coming into play, and thatā€™s word repetition. I notice when words or names are being repeated a lot, and my eye will literally start twitching from it. Iā€™m still super curious about how the family is going to work through their new situation and how theyā€™ll manage on a more permanent basis.
