This is such a great books for kids who have recently started chapter books, and love animals! I particularly liked how the author introduced some basic medical terminology. I was really surprised to see that this author had books for younger readers, since her YA books tackle such difficult issues and are sometimes hard emotionally to get through. There are some sad parts here, but overall the book is cute, with a great message that hard work and determination will really get results.

Fun little story from Laurie Halse Anderson is the first win the Vet Volunteer series, each book is focussing on a different character with different animals and set around the same animal care clinic. A nice story which I passed on to a young avid reader named Erin - and I am assured she loved it. Number two coming soon Erin!

Aww this was probably my favorite book before I even loved reading like I do today. I'm pretty sure I was 11 or younger when I first read it and I'm also pretty sure it made me cry. Not this time, but I still learned all the valuable dog caring skills for you know if I ever get a dog. Gosh this book was sooo cute and hopefully this time around I can read the rest of the series!!

What a wonderfully cute story! This would be a great book for 9-12 year-old (and adults too!). I think that topic, Puppy Mills, is one that we should never tire of reading about until every last puppy mill in the US is shut down. (Am I sounding like Bob Barker?)

I will read more in this series.

Although this is aimed at a much younger audience I enjoyed the story and the teachings. It was a quick yet meaningful read.

I think the first book is much better then the 6th book. i had to start on the 6th book because i couldn't find the 1st but i read it! I think that the first book of this series (this one) is pretty good and now i know a bit more about the characters and how they started helping. I recommend this book if you want to be a vet or you just love animals.
