To be honest, I didn't, or to be more accurate: couldn't, finish reading this book . The thrill of trying to find out who dunnit disappeared after few chapters. I have learned from earlier experience that Miss Christie makes sure the reader lacks enough details to solve her crimes, while throwing in a few red herrings. In this case, the booked contained too many details for my liking. I lost track of events, and had to re-read many pages to understand what was going on, or where in the story I was. May be it's just me, because some might consider the abundance in detail as a sign of richness and maturity of the author.
I had put it on the 'cozy mystery' shelf originally, but this is not a book to take to the beach or read with a hot cup of tea.

Poirot is barely in this one which is interesting! I found it to be one of her more ridiculous plots but there were portions I liked.

By this point, Agatha Christie was quite obviously more than tired of Poirot and never ceased an opportunity to make fun of him, disregard him, or to portrait him as a completely ridiculous caricature.

This wasn’t the best Poirot mystery I’ve read. I liked the characters we met and I liked the plot though I did manage to guess to outcome of this one. My issue was that I got almost halfway through before Poirot turned up. He wasn’t really around for the investigation but turns up at the end with the reveal. On to the next.
