I actually feel guilty anytime I rate a book anything lower than a 3. I know the author worked hard to create the story and I know that someone somewhere loved the book. This book, though, was not for me. I had to keep reminding myself that the main character, Adelaide, was 17 years old – a teenager. I just did not find her likable. Everything was someone else’s fault and she was so obsessed with her recent breakup and then thinking she has found her soulmate. I get that the purpose was to talk about life and love and relationships and pain and happiness and all of these different things. The alternate realities/universe/possibility were hard to get used to at the beginning, but ended up being mostly interesting in the end - so I guess that’s a positive? It was an interesting and unique writing style.

Not sure how I feel about this - it was easy to read and I liked the setting but I wasn't really gripped. The whole multiverse aspect was interesting but not really explained and I didn't feel connected to any of the characters really.

The writing was really beautiful though and I liked the little details of adalaide's art and dog walking - that added a lot to her character I think.

Läste ut den här boken på en dag. Fångad från första sidan.

”She was inclined to laziness,
curiosity, and
magical thinking.”

Cute romance with a twist into parallel universes. Fun to explore many different possibilities.

Thank you to Random House Children’s Books and NetGalley for the advance copy.
