It is the middle ages

I did read a ton reviews condemning the author for the hero daring to be a war-thirsty man. That was quite the point, I thought. Women and children were slaughtered. That it is distasteful does not mean it did not happen. Overall, a good book. I am not dying to know what happens next, but it was well written and amusing.

Tried and couldn't. DNF at page 29.

It was pretty good but I was ready to tear my hair out at the end of the book for the sheer number of times the phrase "dual colored eyes" or "dual colored orbs" was used. I get it. He has two different colored eyes. I don't need to be reminded every time he uses them.

Really dark, and you definitely have to keep in mind that people had a very different mindset about the roles of men/women in medieval times.
