Another great piece of storytelling from Natalie Haynes, bringing often hidden female characters to life. Loved the parallel stories of Jocasta and her daughter Ismene.

A wonderful retelling. The switch between Isomene's and Jocasta's perspective took some getting used to, but after a few chapters, the book captivated me. Although I knew the Ödipus and the Antigone stories, this retelling made it its own own never failed to surprise me in many ways. Would definitely recommend.

Interesting exploration of the famous Oedipus tale which has reminded me to re-read some other less familiar myths, and also the play Antigone by Jean Anouilh

This is the Haynes I wanted the Women of Troy to be. That one was good but this one HOOKED me.
