I've never watched True Blood, so I have nothing to compare this to. I'm going to be honest: I read about 60% before skimming through the remaining 40% because I was about done with it but I had gone far enough that I wanted to see how it ended. In short, this book is kind of awful.

Cons:
- bad writing
- meh plot
- homophobia
- biphobia
- racist
- slut shames like nobody's business
- the romance is kind of rape-y
- probably referring to telepathy as a disability; that just seems side-eye worthy
- Sookie because she's just plain awful

Pros:
- vampires that have to avoid sunlight and actually sleep in the dirt, which is awesome
- Bill has nice sideburns
- ????
- that's about it really

That's all I got. I'm skipping the rest of this series. It's too long for me to waste my time with it.

Light/brainless but very problematic read. Would give it 1 star if I haven’t watched the show.
