UMMMM WOW WhAT THE HECK

I wasn't going to give this five stars until the last few chapters but THEY BLEW ME AWAY. The conflict, the descriptions, the STORY, the characters....ACK.

Let's just say Franklin is the queen of writing hot guys who are also entirely functional and don't just exist to be hot. Kharn, Warmil, Mor...those are my favorites, but let's be honest, all the guys in this series are AMAZING and all of them are just so cool, too.

Also the magic.

Also the TWISTS.

Was it a little cliche? YUP.

Was it still quite obviously a passion project, full of all of Franklin's heart and soul?

YUP.

Love, love, LOVE.

I enjoyed this follow up. I think the story is coming along nicely from where started with a young pembrone girl learning her trade of story peddling. Tanwen is maturing quickly. She is now sailing about the world and she has her ups and downs but I think this thing between her and Mor is strange. I don’t fully understand why they are grumpy with each other at times. I am not sure I need to understand it but it definitely sails over my head. I have a feeling it is a heterosexual thing but I can’t be certain. I hope to track down the 3rd book to see how it all ends with Mor, Tannie, Brac, Naith, Braith and Khern. And if the orb makes any further appearances and if the Creator is revealed further or given any more depth in this story.

Whoa. That escalated quickly.
I LOVED The Story Peddler, and this was quite a step up. The stakes have been raised, folks.

Enjoyable and easy listening - good follow up to book 1 :)
Left off with need to find the final book of the trilogy.

Well, I must say...HOLY FREAKING COW!!! That ending! OMG! I'm so glad that [b:The Story Hunter|48662332|The Story Hunter (The Weaver Trilogy #3)|Lindsay A. Franklin|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1585292902l/48662332._SY75_.jpg|74005886] comes out soon and I can get my hands on it and make sure everyone is safe!

So, this one definitely ratcheted things up a bit. [b:The Story Peddler|36327140|The Story Peddler (The Weaver Trilogy, #1)|Lindsay A. Franklin|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1517433722l/36327140._SY75_.jpg|58003462] was definitely more about Tannie figuring out what she wanted and finding people. Raider is more about digging into history and discovering some buried truths. Yes, Tannie's still trying to figure out exactly what she wants, but by the end, she's got things more figured out. And she definitely realized what she wishes she had with Mor. And what she seems to be willing to go after.
SpoilerSeriously, even though the version that she sent at those strands on the beach won't come true, I hope she and Mor get something. They're awesome together and I really think they're just overall good for each other; aside from the whole linking thing, they just fit.
I did wish she'd explained things to Brac, but at the same time, when she was explaining her reasonings to Mor, I could understand it. At the time, there was a ton of confusion and she really does love Brac, even if it's not the way he wants her to.

Mor is amazing. I love how he's determined to save those he cares about. Even though it really started as a way to make up for his guilt over Digwyn, and he kind of held onto things with Gryfelle that unfortunately had no chance anymore, he still cares about his crew and always wants to protect them. I did want to smack him because of how he kept pulling away from Tannie. Not saying they needed to jump into each others arms, but there's clearly something between them (again, ignoring the link thing for now), there's still something. But he was just so idiotic about it. I did like how Gryfelle took him to task over it, sad as it was, and even though he still kind of refused to acknowledge it. Even at the end, but at least he and Tannie seem to have found a path forward.

It was interesting watching Braith. She's trying so hard to be a good ruler and throw off any shadows from her father. I liked the way she wanted to listen to what everyone said, but she also started putting her foot down, when it came down to it. Yes, it took some doing and she might have had to do it a couple of times, but she still got her point across. And seemed to have gained some grudging respect from the council. Kharn definitely threw a wrench into things, but I liked the fact that he seems to have the same thought process on a together lead instead of him taking the lead. Of course, that ending has left things open ended.

Diggy was such a broken character. When she was telling her stories, you really had to feel for her. I was so glad that Tannie so easily became a protector for her. I hope that she'll eventually come to trust Mor again, although after the beach she seems to have started trying to again.

I really wanted to smack Brac. At the beginning, he was acting like Tannie was already his wife. And he still seemed stuck on her giving up any dreams she had, which is something that ticked me off in the first book. I have to wonder how things are going to go for him...when Tannie saw that image there at the end, it was like he subconsciously knew things were wrong but he couldn't figure out why.

Naith is still a snake. Part of me how many rocks he's got that he can go slither under when times get tough. The Master just left me with more questions. Then that reveal at the end...is that another puppet? Or The Master themself? MUST GET ANSWERS!!
