Easy read! Nothing special enough about it to go above 3 stars for me!

I think this is the case I got fooled by the blurp. I mean addiction issue usually guarantee a decent/ very good read. But not for this book. What turns my off is the chemistry between the Hero and the heroine. Even the insta lust feel forced. Also some writing style, wording, sentence structure lacks depth. It feels really flat.
I try to finish the book. But I only can manage to read until 60% and then I have to drop it. Nothing clicks with me.

I am definitely a Marie Johnston fan. And this book is a great example of why. A perfect mix of romance, mystery and intrigue, a small dose of dealing with serious everyday issues and quite the healthy helping of steam. The characters are lovable and the plot will keep you glued to you device. Definitely one click worthy.
I received an ARC of the book and this is my honest review.

Dillion Walker goes to see an addiction counselor, Elle Brady, because he promised his Dad he would. He doesn't think he has a problem. Elle sees right away that he does. He's attracted to her and she returns the feeling so she tries to get him to see another counselor but he gives up. They end up dating but she breaks it off after she sees him after a few beers. Elle has hang ups about addiction due to how she grew up. After an incident the night Elle breaks up with him, Dillion gets serious about addressing the problem. This was a very real story. I was glad they were able to work things out.
