Usually, I like David Mitchell (also, the other David Mitchell), but this one has an I-don't-have-a-good-idea-but-must-fill-the-requisite-number-of-words feel to it.

a very clever book that i only wish i had listened to as an audio book - some of the satire and jokes don’t come off as funny when you’re reading them in your head instead of hearing them in David Mitchell’s voice!

Witty and fun. David Mitchell is a brilliant comedian and writer. Unfortunately the columns didn’t work completely cohesively as a book. Some of the political commentaries felt outdated. I can imagine these would have been great newspaper articles, but felt slightly jarring without the wider contextual information needed reading the segments years after their original publication. Still, an enjoyable read.
