It took me a while to get through the audiobook, since I'm in my Sad Taylor Swift era but I did snort at the "What if she turned out to be racist?" in the dating chapter. I really felt like David understood me.

You can't fail with David Mitchell. As an avid fan of QI, Would I Lie to You?, and Big Fat Quiz, I've always been drawn to and entertained by Mitchell's "angry logic" (as Stephen Fry so eloquently puts it). I find his books refreshing and humorous. Don't pass these up! Highly recommended for the sarcastic and academic.

it's just a summary of all his articles and there is no narrative between them. I don't think my mood matched and I had no interest in listening further

I found the audiobook quite hilarious; it extracted a wide variety of loud laughs from my body. This is very quotable and some of it will definitely stick with me.
While reading I kept waiting for him to throw out something that sounded genuinely out of touch. After all, I'm a queer millennial and he's a middle-aged white guy. But I could find no fault with the combination of admitting not knowing what's best and having some genuine suggestions.
This was very funny.
