An interesting if sparse read, Ducker manages to put us in a place of alienation and moroseness, though I'm not sure he manages to sell it--the relationship between our characters is forced and ill-defined, despite being the very basis of our story, but the narrator is strong and thoughtful, which smooths out the edges.
