The third entry in the Fudge series is my favorite so far. It is another enjoyable light hearted story that most kids can relate to. The author uses accessible language that makes this an easier reader for even young readers who haven't been reading that long. I would think most second or third graders could read it without help but would also be a fun read aloud too.

Just finished this with my 9 year old and it had him cracking up! He loves the character of Fudge and his mischief. WARNING: There is a chapter about Santa Clause and the main characters discuss how Santa is not real and that it’s just the parents who leave presents. I ended up skipping this chapter almost completely!

Another book that had my kids begging to go to bed early so that I'd read them 1 more chapter. Warning: this book has a chapter about the existence of Santa clause. We skipped, as my boys are still believers, without disrupting the story too much.

It's been so long since I've read these books, though I read them many times as a kid! We recently read Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing as a family, and my daughter read the rest of the series, so I'm sneaking them in before we have to return them. These stories are so relatable and funny.

After Furiously Happy and Silver Linings Playbook, I needed something light, so I've gone on a Judy Blume tween rampage. I only ever read the first of this series, so I figured I'd give the rest a shot.

These are still adorable. Hearing Judy Blume narrate fills me with such joy.

But dear god, do I want to punch the ever living daylights out of Fudge. Like, a lot. And maybe kick him, too. I think books like these started my belief that I would never ever ever ever ever have children.

I also love that in this Blume narrated version, some things were clearly updated, such as when Peter got an MP3 player for Christmas. Heh.
