As an aspiring educator, I learned so much from this text about how I need to reflect on my practices and intentions. I love how Kendi emphasizes the importance of anti-racist policy over anti-racist education because only the former will definitively bring about positive change. This is an amazing, reframing read!!

I found this book really hard to read to start with, but switching to the audiobook made it much easier to consume. A really nuanced look at racism in its many facets. I was frustrated that all the definitions included racism and anti racism in both the description and their titles, which made me mark it down a touch. I was also frustrated at the slights at people’s weights which very occasionally happened, it seemed really at odds at the inclusion messaging.

I read this book as part of the ABC book challenge. I am glad I picked this one.  It is a must read and I couldn't put it down. I love how he frames his talking points and his thesis.
Spoiler I liked the ending  allegory of racism to cancer.
