One of the cover spots compares the author to David Sedaris and Tina Fey. If you like David Sedaris or Tina Fey, do yourself a favor and go read something they wrote. Not this. Based on other reviews, this blogger has fans, lots Of them. Enough to warrant a book. Hey, That's way more than I have! And as much as it pains me to write negatively about anyone who puts themselves out there... This just isn't my cup of tea. I enjoy snark. I enjoy Baby Sideburns as much as the next spent mommy. I can get behind Jezebel and their biting prose. But if I'm going to laugh out loud, make me buy what you're selling. Don't tell me you can hear frogs in NYC in December, or that it takes as long to make a sandwich as it does for another person to get dressed for a wedding, drive across town, search through a house for something and not find only to interrupt the same sandwich maker as they are about to uncover your box of cock-rings. Maybe my expectations are too high, but humor is in the details. The fat man is funny, but the fat man with a little girl's voice is funnier. I think her material is great. But experiences don't make humor. A great humorist can make the unfunny hilarious. Jen Mann has great intentions, and apparently hits the mark for some, but she's not on my funny-list. She did not make me LOL even once in the first 64 pages, which is when I put it down to go read NAKED by David Sedaris.
Try it. Don't try it. Do what you will.

I thought this book was hilarious! I laughed aloud so many times with the first chapter and was hooked. Since most of these chapters seemed child/mom oriented and I don't have a kid I couldn't really relate to them; but Jen wrote so well and was just so funny I didn't care. Fun, witty, and quick read!

This book had a lot of hilarious stories to the point where I wondered how they could be true and happen to one person. The story of how she met her husband was so fun and yet sad at the same time. Her husband is by her own admission a cheapskate which provided it's own humor.
The general stories of annoyances of trying to fit in with other "Pinterest" moms and their expectations where entertaining even though I don't have kids, i can picture the type of moms she is talking about. I also loved how real some of the stories were even if slightly unflattering.
Totally worth listening to the audio as it gives a more storytelling vibe.
