An achingly beautiful novel, exactly what I’ve come to expect by this extremely talented author. I so wanted to read about Tristan when he was mentioned in the previous book and I wasn’t disappointed at all when he made his appearance. He’s kind, he’s strong, he’s broken and his struggle to heal and have his life back almost broke my heart. And Gwen is an extraordinarily lovable character who really deserved her HEA. I loved the gorgeous descriptions of the breathtaking winter landscape of Wales and I enjoyed learning the various Welsh Christmas traditions. I loved that all the characters of the book played a role in the story and that their feelings for the death, and return, of Tristan were so delicately examined and made up a very important part of the plot. In brief, I LOVED this book!

I love the “turns out he’s not really dead” trope, and I think Emily Windsor does it very well here.  I’m also in love with the Welsh setting of this book and the previous one.  This time around, we also get to experience the Welsh customs and traditions related to Christmas.  Though it’s not really a holiday book, it would be a good one to read (or re-read) during the winter holiday season.

Along with a touching romance, we get more of the author’s trademark humor, vivid secondary characters, and sense of family and friendship.

And now I’m eagerly awaiting Hugh’s book!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have enjoyed The Governess Chronicles and A Gentleman Will Never…Forget A Lady is the newest, most romantic book in the series.  I felt the writing and characters took a different direction in this book, and it worked brilliantly.  Tristan and Gwen get pulled apart by fate just when their love develops.  Almost two years later, they are together again, but obstacles lie in their path to a happily ever after.

The plot was engaging and riveted me to the page.  Tristan and Gwen were outstanding characters.  Tristan had to adjust to differences in his life.  His battle towards accepting his limitations and new relationships with his family was heart-achingly beautiful.  Gwen has a restless, broken heart, yet she never truly gives up hope on Tristan.  Tristan and Gwen’s connection is so strong that it overcomes time and tragedy.  Their romance was breathtaking.  I loved the sweetly romantic intimacies between the couple in their quiet moments together.

A Gentleman Will Never…Forget A Lady is the third book in The Governess Chronicles series.  This series does build on each book, so I would advise reading at least the second book.  The only word that could describe this book is enchanting.  I loved every moment.  Emily Windsor is at her best in this book!  She creates the most wondrous, unforgettable scenes between Tristan and Gwen.  This is a fantastic series that I recommend often.  This is another magnificent love story that is told tenderly.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book by the author.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
