Knowing this book was going to feature a Tarzan-like alien with the language barrier and kidnapping tropes, I thought I was going to really like it, especially since how much of a letdown the previous book was. Sadly, while I did quite enjoy those parts I mentioned, the plot was a confusing, unstructured mess. I have decided not to continue this series after this book since it started to feel like the author really isn't interested in writing dynamic and structured plots like she did for the first two books because characters just vibing together is apparently all you need to sell romance books these days.

Ladies, would you still resonate to your man if he was essentially a feral wolf man? *Harlow has entered the chat*

Dude, idk what Ruby Dixon puts in these books, but they have become my ultimate cozy comfort read. When I want something with a plot that will keep my attention, romance that is just sweet and spicy enough, and some humor throughout, I pick this series up. She never disappoints!!

This one brought back the language barrier aspect which I quite like, but the timeline felt like I was speeding through their life so I lack any attachment to the couple

- Main Couple: Rukh(alien)/Harlow(human)
- POVs Included: Dual (Rukh, Harlow)
- Book Playlist (Ice Planet Barbarians Book Series Playlist)

I love these books. They are just good fun with minimal drama. They are a little fluffy since there is very little drama, but the author keeps them the perfect length (between 180-200 pages) for a fluffy romance. They are a great series to have in your back pocket because they are consistently sweet and fun and on the lighter side. I know that if I’m in a reading rut (or approaching a rut) or if I just need a buffer between a couple of other books (after reading an amazing book that tends to put others to shame or after a string of bad books) then these won’t leave me disappointed. Love them!

In this one we pick up where Barbarian Lover (Aehako and Kira’s book) left off. Harolow is looking for materials to make a travois for Aehako and Haeden who are injured. As she is looking Rukh crosses her path and they resonate, so he proceeds to club her over the head and kidnap her. After this happens Harlow worries that the tribe will think she abandoned the others and that they died because of her (she thinks they died). So she willingly stays with Rukh and they fall in love.

The book was so cute! The language barrier we saw in the first book is back in this book because of Rukh living on his own and doesn’t know much language. I find it so charming and cute though, especially how Ms. Dixon has the girl’s language all garbled so we see he doesn’t understand her, but we still can. It’s done so well.

I found Rukh to be so sweet and a little naive in such a charming way. He’s been so secluded that every interaction is basically new to him. Like when he was trying to rub Harolow’s freckles off was hilarious and adorable. Or exploring new romantic and sexual things with Harlow. It was all just so cute.

I also really liked Harlow. She wasn’t bitchy and she warmed up to Rukh quickly. I liked how she was resourceful and willing to just jump in and make the best of her situation. I also love how each of the girls has an interesting past before getting abducted. Like Kira’s reason for infertility and Harlow having battled cancer. It makes them each feel more real and different, instead of all of them seeming like carbon copies of each other.

The only thing I didn’t like was I thought it was kind of sad that Harlow and Rukh didn’t meet up with everyone else in the tribe for an entire year! But I think it was good that they developed a connection before he came to the tribe. He probably needed that.

In this one some babies are born too! Aww! Cute little half alien, half human babies. lol their pregnancies seem to be lasting about a year instead of the scary three year mark that sa-khui woman have to go through. I can’t imagine that! No thanks! lol After having three kids myself, I can tell you that 9 months is enough for me.

In this one though Harlow and Rukh have a baby boy that they name Rukhar. And Liz and Raahosh have a baby girl named Raashel. New cousins! Cute!

Speaking of new babies, I can’t imagine having to hunt down a giant sa-kohtsk (which are described as being the size of an airplane!) whenever a baby is born! Crazy to think about how scary that is.

Overall I loved the book. Like I said above, these are consistently great romance books. A little fluffy, but in the best way possible — the strangeness of the world and an alien/human relationship adds enough interest to ensure they aren’t boring. Love having this series on hand in case I need a book I know I’m going to like (and them being on Kindle Unlimited is a HUGE bonus). Highly recommend this series!

P.S. I love the cover for this one for some reason. It feels so barbaric. lol Like she is sitting at his feet. I just love it. And I love that Harlow is actually a redhead on the cover! Although she’s missing her freckles. But other than that it’s a great cover!

I absolutely love this series. If you aren't reading you are missing out. It's funny, and sexy, and still has a plot. Even some light tears.
