This is the second Sigma Force novel I have read by Mr. Rollins and it has definitely made me a fan of his work. His writing is well paced and detailed with interesting characters and plot lines. Bloodline is fast paced thriller that includes multiple character developments and the inclusion of a very well trained dog, very entertaining reading his heroic actions. Recommended.

Another fun, fast paced thriller bu Rollins. He is beginning to develop the characters I've wanted to see more and more in each new book he writes. Love that this book begins with the Templars, knew it was just a matter of time before they made their way into one of his books. Rollins always makes me think about science in a new way and makes me question if we really should be exploring the things we do and this book is now exception with immortality and nanotechnology. A great summer read!

First thought when finished: Well that was a non-stop thrill ride that I need to wrap my head around.....

What I Loved: My favorite thing about Bloodline is the team! Sigma Force is made up of many different characters that bring different things to the table. The women are just as strong as the men and in this one, it was Army Ranger Captain Tucker Wayne and his military war dog, Kane that stole the show for me. The case--what happened to the President's daughter--is quickly morphed into something bigger and more drastic. I love that James Rollins writes the case overseas and on domestic soil. What appears to be a straight-forward "let's get the bad guys" turns out to be a twisty thrill ride that kept me guessing till the end. Oh, the end scene was FANTASTIC!

What I Liked: So generally I am not a fan of personal relationships in my thrillers. I find they often get in the way but in this case they played perfectly into the story. I really found myself caring what happened to these people and their relationships! I liked all the background we were given on what the team was doing and why. It never felt like an info dump but more like a debrief. The story flowed well and the pacing was terrific.

What made me go huh?: Nothing stood in the way of me enjoying Blood Line!

Final Thought: I can't wait for the next James Rollins book to release. It is the only downside of reading these quickly!

I really enjoyed this book. I love when Painter is more involved. The only flaw for me? More Monk!!! Kat and Monk are my favorite characters. The addition of Tucker and Kane were great; I hope we see more of them. It was nice to see Jack again, if only briefly. I really love Rollins' stand alone adventures. The sigma books are not my favorite James Rollins' books, but this one was great with some nice twists.

I really enjoy this series--it's like Dan Brown, but more layered and elevated.
