This collection was wonderful (most of the time). I loved some stories more than others.  Some of them dragged on, and others left me thinking for days after reading them.  My favorites would probably be "Pictures of the Ice" (a story about different degrees of Christianity, alcoholism, and hypocrisy, with one of the most tragic, beautiful endings ever), "Hold Me Fast, Don't Let Me Pass" which unwinds identity, loss, and empathy, and "Differently" which explores regret, betrayal through multiple relationships both platonic and romantic, and female friendship.

Finally got a chance to read some Alice Munro and wow, she did NOT disappoint! This is an amazing collection of short stories, the writing is so beautiful and flowy, that I feel I could read these stories constantly. I can see why Atwood called this a must-read. Tose ladies are sure doing the Canadian book-lovers proud!
