It's a slight but sweet graphic novel about a family and acceptance. The large Pirelli family gathers together for Maria's wedding. It's a bit tense because outspoken Frankie, our protagonist, said he was going to have words with the family members who didn't show up for his brother Joe's wedding to Joseph. Also, Frankie is looking forward to seeing Brenna Doyle who he had a crush on and still pines for.

Thank goodness for a visual genealogy chart in the beginning of the book. It helps to keep track of the many family members and their dates. It's a sweet and slight story about acceptance. I wish the writers had drawn out the theme of acceptance more with the Dominican family member and a Jewish boyfriend who were also at the event. The art is a bit stylized ( more graphic design background than cartoonist) but nice. The faces take a while to tell apart because they're related but the non-family members are easy to distinguish.

A quick, enjoyable read. It's appropriate enough for a high school library.
