So I needed to get Kindle for a bit (because some friends of my mum's had written a book on there and she asked me to read it) and it was only a day after downloading it that I realised something detrimental: Kindle Unlimited. I now have access to a lot of things. If there is one thing you should know about me, it is that I am the champion of biting off more than I can chew. Immediately I went down the Kindle Unlimited catalogue and found heaps of books I wanted to read, knowing full well I was only obligated to read the one, and I had to do it all in under a month. Given the choice, I always do audio over ebook, (and physical over both of them) so I have my Audible subscription and I can't justify maintaining a Kindle one too, which is fine and all. I am incredibly thankful that I can afford a subscription to Audible... but it means I don't get access to many graphic novels. Then along comes Kindle, waltzing in with this "unlimited" catalogue (which is very limited, I might add. You can only borrow certain books and only a particular amount at once, but I get it. Consumerism. They want money, and free stuff = no money.) and I am flooded with all these comics I have had on my radar for a bajillion-and-four years (I counted) that I haven't had access to (because stupid library and shipping/ordering costs etc. etc.) and I go weak at the knees. Cancel all my reading plans for August. This is going to be The Month Of The Graphic Novel.

So the first undertaking in The Month Of The Graphic Novel was pretty clear to me. I'm not too much of a stickler when it comes to finishing series (or books, for that matter) but I am not going to shy away when presented with a clear opportunity to do so. So when Sanderson's White Sand, Volume 3 popped up on the catalogue, seeing as it was the only White Sand volume I had left to read, and it was only 160 pages (I forget, I am in the realm of teeny tiny books now, a welcome, though temporary, respite from my local SFF Tome Town), my decision was all but made for me. Yes, I had been warned that this volume wasn't... well, it wasn't good. That the series was below par for a Sanderson. Even at the time of reading/reviewing it, I knew the rating I was giving to the first volume was too high, (in that review I said, quote, "Perhaps I will regret giving it such a high-ish rating in the future, but I'm feeling rather positive right now, so 4 stars it is.")

So all that considered, I wasn't that shocked when the ending turned out to be super duper anti climactic. It was like "ah! Final battle...? Nope. It's done now. The end." Whatever. I wasn't expecting too much anyway.
