An exciting, and yet heartfelt, horror novel of how failing to address the grievances of the past will come back to haunt generations to come. Plus if you are afraid of dolls and puppets, this book is nightmare-fuel.

I remember the TV ads for Chucky when I was in high school and being so freaked out by just the commercials and posters. This book is full of the same heebie jeebies.

“I’ll come right out and say it,” Mercy told them. “Strange noises, bad vibes, your mom and dad recently passed— Your house is haunted and I’m not selling it until you deal with that.”

Wow, I think this is my favorite out of all the books I’ve read by Grady Hendrix.

The only reason I went with a four and a half is because the slow bit near the middle.

Puppets have always sorta creeped me out since sloppy from the goosebumps series and this book only solidifies it.

I wasn’t expecting to tear up as much as I did at the end.

And Mark! I absolutely hated him at the beginning but started to like him a lot as we neared the ending.

Grady is so amazing at writing characters that feel like real people and this book is no exception.

Loved how the detail of the moms brother dying came back in the end. I had a feeling it would end up being connected one way or another

Very good. Parts of it were predictable, but there were enough surprises that it was still interesting.

How to Sell A Haunted House tells the story of Louise and her brother, Mark, who are grappling with the sudden, violent death of their parents… and all of the many secrets they left behind. This is more than a horror story. It’s about grief, complex family relationships, generational trauma, secrets, and puppets.

So much about this book surprised me in the best way. I wouldn’t say it was scary, per se, but it definitely made my heart race! Multiple times, my jaw dropped, my eyes bulged, and I pterodactyl-screeched at what I was reading. There is another chilling surprise around every corner, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.
