I have never watched Bojack Horseman, so I didn't come to this book out of fan loyalty; I heard that there was a story about an engaged couple having to navigate intrusive family opinions at their wedding and that the opinions were things like, "How many goats you should slaughter in your sacrifice to the Stone God" and "What do you mean you're not hiring a Shrieking Chorus for the ceremony?" And I knew this book was for me.

Not all the stories are 10/10, but they are all genuinely delightful, full of heart, actually funny (which is harder to pull off in prose, in my opinion), and often experimental in structure, which I totally dig. There is nothing like it.

It's raw, weird, emotional and unique. Every story carries a deep meaning about the most relatable thing and I love how you need to see closely behind evey6wird to get it.
