To my mind Jim's Journal is perhaps the greatest "alternative" comic strip of all time. You may disagree, but if you like it, this collection is worth getting -- especially the new edition of this collection (technically the "Even More Definitive Collection") self-published by Dikkers, which adds essays about each of the original Jim books, plus all the strips from the online reboot, which I'd not read before. I loved getting some insight into the strip -- even though the essays sort of betray the zenlike nothing-ness of it by explaining Dikkers' motives -- and was pleasantly surprised that the 'new' strips fit right in.

My husband had this book, and I read it. I guess it was okay.
