As a native of the hometown she talks about in the book, this novel quite literally hits close to home. The street names, pizza places, local colleges, all of it made the story even more real.
There were moments where TifAni was absolutely insufferable and Knoll made it very hard to root for her at times. She was self-centered & a bit shallow, yet you start to uncover the core reasons how she got here in this present self. Her journey is rough and by the end, you hope she discovers a road to self recovery & exploration (I also hope she discovered some therapy because she needed it after what she went through wow). Knoll took us through the journey, one of which she later shared was one of her own, which made it the vulnerability in Ani’s emotions even more raw & real.
In the end, this was a really great book. While the subject can be extremely triggering, I would recommend to anyone to immediately read!
