I loved this book and I couldn’t put it down! So different to Book 1. I loved the playful, snarky flirting between Feyre & Rhys. Great world building and expanding on the universe.

I can see the criticisms - comparisons were too explicit between two High Lords, heavy exposition at points, and slow in the beginning. I’m hoping it doesn’t make a point to pair everyone off.

I didn’t think Tamlin would go so far to make a deal with Hybern just to get Feyre back. Shocking

A little drawn out, but an amazing read. Maas does an amazing job at turning Rhysand into a character you’ll absolutely fall in love with.

This book ripped me apart piece by piece, bared me naked, touched bits of my sould I have hidden so deep, even I had forgotten about them.

It's filled with so much raw emotion, thoughts so well worded, and deals with such topics that I'm sure anyone can relate to some bits and pieces of it. The characters are three dimensional, all with their own demons and hopes and dreams, that if I imagined the story to be written from another person's point of view, even our protagonists would have seemed like awful villains - hence the controversy in the fandom I suppose. It was also nice for one to see very reasonable reactions to events and decisions, not just everyone being all powerful and untouchable.

Compared to the very human components of the book, all the politics of Prythian and the plot itself was not as strong, if you're looking for top tier world building this book is not what you're after. It still wasn't bad imo, even an avid fantasy reader could enjoy it bearing in mind that it's not the focal point of the novel.
