I am already in love with this series. J Kenner introduces us to a cast of characters and gives us Reece and Jenna for a sexy fun start. Next installments in this calendar series I am sure will be just as good.

I received a copy to read and give my honest opinion.

I love this author but this book didn’t really suck me in. Friends to lovers.

What did I like? I loved that they were doing the calendar to save the bar called The Fix. It held a lot of memories for Brent, Reece and Jenna, so trying to save it was a no brained.

Would I buy or recommend? It’s currently free on Amazon I believe but free is worth a try and it is part of a series. Just personally didn’t enjoy it.

Thoughts for the author? Hoping the series warms up❤️

I’ve never read J. Kenner before and decided to take a chance when I saw a post for her Man of the Month series. Down on Me is book number one and I was pulled in from the start of the book!

We immediately meet Reece who is trying to forget about the one girl he wants, Jenna, while having a little fun with someone else. Reece has been feeling a certain way about his lifelong friend recently but knows that if could potentially mess up the trio of besties, Brent, Jenna and Reece.

Brent, Jenna and Reece have been together through a lot of different things and have always remained best friends, up until 8 months ago when both Jenna and Reece saw each other a little differently. Both have chosen to keep quiet and not tell each other until one night, everything comes to light.

The story centers around The Fix, a local bar which Brent, Reece and Jenna try to help become a more prominent fixture in Austin before it ends up closed for good. All three each bring something to the table and know with the right promotions and marketing, business will be booming. And so the Man of the Month contest was born...now just to convince the guys to participate ;)

Down on Me is the start of the series and you are given plenty of little hints about how it will all come together in the rest of the series. I’m looking forward to all the adventure and sexy times in all the books to come!

Loved the story, a romantic tale of good friends and then lovers, also a stand-alone that can extend to the other characters in following books

So we meet childhood best friends Reece Walker and Jenna in Down on Me. Jenna has been away, living in LA for 8 months but the night before she left, Reece discovered his been head over heels in love with her. When she moves back to Austin, we realize that Jenna too is in love with Reece.

This book was good. Far from great, just good for about the first 70% of the book. The last 30% was just pure shit. I dont know if it was just me but i just never got the timeline of their relationship leading up to pregnancy. It felt like they were together all of two minutes before she fell pregnant.

Speaking of the pregnancy.
Sigh. I absolutely love it when the heroine gets pregnant in the book, i just love babies. Even fictional ones 😂.
What put me completely off was her forcing marriage onto him. They've known each other for years and Reece has always been anti-marriage. I've read a million books where the guy says this and then obviously changes his mind later on. The difference between those books and this one is in the fact that for as long as Jenna has known Reece, she has known he doesnt want to get married. She's known about for so long so she obviously knew about it before she got into a relationship with him. Dumb girl sweeps away the fact that she actually does want to get married in the belief of "oh our relationship is not at that point yet". My thing is, why go into a relationship in the first place, setting yourself up for heartbreak when you know you and your partners stance on marriage is not the same.
I was rooting for them so hard until she broke up with him after telling him she was pregnant because he didn't want to get married. How is forcing him going to make things better? The only one being selfish is YOU JENNA.

Overall, i would've had a different feeling had Jenna not been so damn stupid and annoying.

Omg I loved this book and I'm so glad there are more, I see a binge coming in my future. Trying had to stay in the friend zone despite his growing feelings for his childhood best friend Reece is trying to help his good friend and boss save his bar. Jenna has recently returned from California and the feelings between them are growing fast. This is a hot sexy romance that sets up the stories for the next 11 books. As Jenna has the idea to create a calendar of hot men from the area by throwing a party a month to help pick the winner for each months calendar page. Jenna would love for the men who run the bar they are trying to save to be part of it none of them want to show off their ripped bodies for the masses. Although Jenna might get her wish after all when her and Reece get a little closer than just friends.

I really wasn’t sure what I would get when I cracked open this story, but wow what a story it was. It was a brilliant one, full of passion, banter and that forbidden love that you are scared to take that first step. I really love the loyalty of Reece. He is a tough as nails kind of guy but will do whatever it takes for his friends. Enter Jenna, the friend that is forbidden fruit but trying to deny that passion is a chore. These two sizzle as they fight their attraction and I love how it all culminates in the end. The side story about the bar is utterly brilliant as it pulls in characters that you will most likely see later down the road. I found this one was the building blocks of this series and I am really looking forward to seeing more out of this series.. But so far, Reece has my heart!

Bachelor Reese Walker wants two things in life - to save his bar and to be with Jenna Montgomery. They have been friends since childhood but recently he can’t ignore that fact he wants more. After an unexpected kiss changes everything between them they find that change is hard but it can lead to happiness.

These two were a pretty good couple. I enjoyed both of their characters, mostly. Reese is a sexy bartender with no expectations of a permanent relationship. He knows that marriage is a shame and nothing will change his mind. His constant negativity about marriage was a little annoying after a while. Jenna was smart and very resourceful at planning events. I liked her but I thought it was annoying that she instantly pushed for marriage (I wont say more than that because it will be spoilers).

Overall, I did enjoy the book and would be willing to read more from this author.
