A espera tinha valido a pena.

Então a destruição é a solução dele? - Evie revirou os olhos, afastando o cabelo solto do rosto. - Homens - bufou.

I really enjoyed how this book was set up similar to a mystery book. There is a reveal which I didn’t see coming but once it happened I could piece together all the clues that had give us to have the ‘ah-ha’ moment. I also enjoyed how it was written from both the two main characters view point so you can get both their perspectives.
The author provides a warning at the start of a few themes that it includes that could be triggering. Although it is set in a fairytale magical world, with some of the themes it includes the book is aimed at young adults and above I would say. The book highlights the moral greys of the characters, that no character is truely all good or all bad.
My only flaw would be a few times the writing doesn’t seem to flow which took me out of it.

The book ended on a cliff hanger and I’m looking forward to the next one!

I laughed out loud multiple times. This is morally grey hero done right, not just thinly-veiled abuse and toxicity masquerading as devotion. I’m starting the next one right away.

not going to say that this was not mildly enjoyable.  I think it was supposed to be light-hearted and in general, it did that (though the characters felt shallow/flat, but that is hardly unexpected for a book like this).  Some plot points felt out of nowhere or unneeded/weird.
My least favorite part was the rivalry between Evie and Rebecka, with the sexual assault stuff a close second.

Would recommend if you want a quickish, fun, romatasy read.  However, I can not say that I feel this is good

Love. Love. Loved! The premise for this plot was so intriguing. I was a bit wary with the "inspired by the TikTok series" but I had nothing to fear! The Villian and Evie are such a great duo and the world is really interesting without being an overwhelming info dump.

If you find female characters that are a bit too perfectly sarcastic or snarky even in emotional situations this might not be for you. I found her hilarious and the writing is strong enough it's not off-putting.

It is a comedic novel with some intrigue and investigation about a mole (and the plot twist here 🤯) and some romance along the way.

It's unique and I love it. Can't wait to pick up the second book!

This has been one of my favorite reads of the year. It is a glorious deconstruction of grumpy/sunshine, office comedy with an absurdist twist that uses its premise to quietly reflect on how we are shaped by trauma.

This is a book that would benefit from trigger warnings.

I was debating on giving this book 4 or 5 stars, but honestly, the banter alone deserved the extra push. This book was so fun and goofy; it was everything I could hope for in a light-hearted fantasy about a "villain" failing to remain cold around his raucous cabal of office workers - an underqualified himbo, a heavily starched ringleader, a gossipy lesbian, and best of all a terrifyingly unfazed ray of sunshine. I'm really happy that this book proved me wrong and that I went into it completely blind because I hope it stays this funny and fast-paced for the rest of this series. The tension was also absolutely PERFECTION, and we need more books with the not-so-grumpy love interest's POV. All in all, I need more of The Villian and that flirty Himbo. 💀💞
