If you enjoy historical dramedies such as Hulu's The Great and Apple TV's Dickinson, then you'll enjoy this spirited romantic comedy of manners set in a fiction (and fantsiful) Victorian England.

A very enjoyable read made all the more entertaining by narrator Elizabeth Knowelden's voice and character work. Huzzah!

It was funny! The humor reminded me to that of the movie The Princess Bride, which I really liked.

A women society of pirates, flying houses, fights with pistols, swords and knives and a male love interest who has more identities than one could remember. Sounds weird? Well, that‘s what this book was.
Very weird and it took me a few chapters to get into the story. As soon as I had an idea of what was going on and how certain things worked in that world, I started enjoying the story. It ended up being super entertaining, unexpected, romantic and a bit all over the place. I loved the chemistry between Cecilia and Ned. Their dialogues and banter were so refreshing, it always made me chuckle.
I won‘t count it to my favourites but I had a good time reading it.

B99 meets The great/Dickinson but with Lady pirates, scoundrel and societies, flying houses, women smashing the patriarchy and stealing from it in a ladylike way with a moral code and romance.
