such a gentle romance mixed with an action-packed adventure full of hidden knives and quick wit, i enjoyed this story much more than i ever expected to and am relieved of that fact.

This was by far the strangest, most charming thing I’ve read in a long time. The dialogue and references to literature are superb. But I didn’t read the back flap before diving in so I thought I was getting a sweet regency romance. I was gobsmacked by floating houses and pirate women who fly them and pillage. It was fun! But I was shocked.

Aaah this was such a good book! It was absolutely ridiculous in the best way, hilarious, and the romance was so cute. I loved every second and never got bored!

I really enjoyed this book. I surprised me how much! I was trying to explain this book to some friends and the best I can come up with is a weird and wonderful romcom that feels like if you mashed together My Lady Jane and Pride and Prejudice or Bridgerton, but make it Victorian 😅

I absolutely loved the characters - obviously the two main characters but I also just found so many from the Wisteria Society hilarious!? And the quotes and misquotes from classic poets were so fun! Loved seeing a bit of Wordsworth and Byron mixed in with the Brönte quotes.

You definitely have to suspend reality but when don't we in books? Very enjoyable and I laughed out loud numerous times!
