Not great quality. Did not hold my interest. Seemed way too far fetched and ridiculous.

I love it when books get better with each book I read in a series. I realise that this is the first book in the series, but it isn't the first book I read. I liked the mystery. I enjoy the recipes. I like the characters. What more can I ask for? My only issue is that I forced my husband to go buy me box of donuts...

I really liked this book. I can see why some people don't like it though. it isn't perfect, and it has the bed aftertaste of a first novel that needs more refinement (though I'm pretty sure Jessica Beck is a pen name for a male cozy writer).

I will admit that the story is a tad farfetched in this mystery. That two people with no training could sneak in to the businesses mentioned and no one thought it was suspicious is a little stretch. The whole donut shop bit gets old after a while. While I really liked some of the random scenes with customers, they were just that- random with no real link to the plot, and a little repetitive when talking about her love for the shop.

What draws me in about this series is Suzanne. Something about her character is relateable compared to other cozy mysteries I've read. The dialogue is natural and fun to read. I liked the side characters, and I liked the overall plot. It isn't original by any means, but none of the cozies I've read yet have been completely original.

At any rate, I didn't want to put it down, and that's the best prise I can give book.

I was hoping that this would be a cheesy little murder mystery, but the plot was actually quite boring. The connection between the protagonist Suzanne and the murder victim was not nearly strong enough to warrant her obsessively investigating the crime, and there was a lot of repetition in conversations between characters. I may try one of the donut recipes - perhaps I'll be able to recommend this as a cookbook!

If you're in the mood for a light read, with mystery starting in the first paragraph, combined with humor and romance, GLAZED MURDER fits the bill. It is fun read that will help you escape from daily stress. Jessica Beck tells a good story with interesting recipes thrown in for spice. Don't expect this novel to be a classic; do expect to be entertained. Looking forward to more in this series.

This book was one of the worst stories I've read - ever. I'm having a hard time remembering something worse, but I'm drawing a blank. I picked it up because a friend of mine read it and it seemed like a mindless fluff that I would breeze through and get my goal back on track. Not so much. Character interactions were flat and forced, plot was nonexistent and main character's motivations for solving the murder were slim at best. Also, I figured out the killer the first time he showed up in the story. Talk about lame. I probably should have known better, but oh well. Live and learn. One thing for sure: I will NOT be picking up next installments.
