This was an interesting retelling of the Greek story of Cupid and Psyche. It started off harsh, dark, and not what I expected. I was intrigued from the beginning of the story. (I've never heard the original Greek story) There were sad parts, and I felt bad for the oldest sister at first. This book took me on an emotional roller-coaster. I see the Christian undertones, and it focused on exploring the idea of love (it showed what false love is, which is possessiveness, and what true love is, which is selflessness). Overall, it was an interesting take on the myth. Also I liked the narrator for the audiobook.Â
Moderate: Suicide attempt and Physical abuse
