Juliet and Sam are opposites in all their ways of teaching in the seventh grade. Peaceful, organized, and planned Juliet directly opposes the unpredictable, exciting, and hands-on Sam. When Juliet needs help producing and editing a video for a grant application, the technologically-inclined Sam is the only option for help. Juliet and Sam soon realize that they can tolerate each other at the very least.
This book is heartwarming and special. From my inexperienced point of view, the characters provide a great perspective on the successes and some of the issues within the foster care system.
Any Allie Marie book would be incomplete without some sport fandom and I love Sam’s backwards Red Sox cap. Juliet’s right. It is hot.
Allie’s work continues to grow with each novel she writes and I will continue to look forward to each release.
This honest review was written in exchange for an ARC copy of Apple of my Eye.
(& for those keeping track at home, Jack is still my favorite Allie book boyfriend followed closely by Sam and Owen)
