I really liked the first book in this series but man Harley stepped it up for this one! It was dark, twisted, and SUPER hot. Loved it!! Can’t wait for the final story!

My freakness is on the loose
And running, all over you
Please take me to places
That nobody, nobody knows
You got me hooked up on the feeling
You got me hanging from the ceiling
Got me up so high I'm barely breathing
So don't let me, don't let me
Don't let me, don't let me go

The story is happening concurrently with Her Soul to Take (also a 5-star read) but with a few more details sprinkled in. We get to see more of Leon and can appreciate his journey even more, but he is not the star of the show this time around. We follow Juniper and Zane, who have inferno levels of heat between them. Their times together are always electric and soaked in taboo, just the way I like it. I wish we had seen a bit more of the cult, or followed their story beyond the ending we already knew was coming, thanks to Her Soul to Take, but since I loved the first storyline, this was another savory taste.

Overall, I thought this book was an enjoyable, fun read. It was definitely dark, but not the darkest book I have read.

I thought Juniper was a lot more of a relatable character than Raelynn was in Book 1. Juniper came from a very dysfunctional and developed unhealthy coping mechanisms over the years, such as keeping everyone at a distance and being in a state of constant survival-mode.

However, as the story progressed, she learned to open up to someone and find a safe space, and she has to learn to not feel guilty about being happy.

This is a very great book showing that dark romance, while it has dark themes, is also about consent and the feelings of your partner.

If you're look for something that will ease you into the erotica and dark romance/paranormal romance genre, I think this is the perfect book to start. Definitely check your trigger warnings, but if you are still unsure what those triggers are, I think this a good book to start with.

I read this earlier this year and am doing the review as a catch-up. I literally had no memory of the book's plot so I had to the description. I then remembered liking the but Im not sure accurate that could be because I hadn't remembered it.
So this is a weird review I guess.

Zane and Juni are so messed up and I love it. They’re definitely my favorite out of the foursome. Excited to eventually read Everly and Callum’s story next, but wouldn’t be mad to read about Hana and Sadie after that
