Do you have a favorite vacation spot? I have one, it’s quaint place where I love to go and spend long leisurely days in a comfy spot catching up with friends. If you’ve never been there, I would suggest that you drop by Deep Haven to check it out. Susan May Warren has created a wonderful place to rest and relax in the series.

She recently released an e-novella set in Deep Haven titled Hook, Line, and Sinker. This short trip into the woods is well done and a great quick trip to a quiet retreat that I have come to love. This story is set at a camp with visiting college students. Within the group there are two very different leaders that are working through their shared past to discover what their futures may hold. All the while the group is participating in the yearly fishing contest of Deep Haven. Once the competition is over, there is a wonderful scene with an older pastor speaking to the group. He reminds us that “Jesus doesn’t ask us to fish only with crank bait or live minnows. He tells us to fish…Our job isn’t to narrow down the bait; it is to be obedient with the fishing.” (Location 604 of 739).

Hook, Line, and Sinker is a great quick trip into Deep Haven for those that are familiar with its charm and a wonderful introduction to Susan May Warren’s writing for those that haven’t.

This title was provided to me by Tyndale Publishing House for rewiew purposes. I am not required to provide a positive review.

Wonderful story

I love the deep haven series, such a good build up of community. I liked the character builds, they were well thought out. Had good expression, and it wasnt to slow moving because of details. It moved right along.
