Betrayed: Days of the Rogue by Nicky Charles

I liked the story but was disappointed. I was expecting a story about the character in his darkest moments. I thought the writer was going to try to expand her writing and delve into something that would have explored emotions of rage, despair and self-loathing especially with what happened in "Bonded" with the main character, Damien. Instead, new characters were introduced with their own special abilities as a different type of supernatural creature. We have very little first person with Damien as a "Rogue werewolf", as the title of the book suggests.

It's an interesting read but disappointing.

This book did not disappoint. I loved the characters. The triangle between the three was great and the way it was handled did not become predictable. even though you knew who would end up together in the end. However there was also a twist on the book that I didn't expect and could have been left out. It really didn't add to the story.

Overall this has been a great series of books. I highly recommend them!

I liked this book for the same reason that I liked Bonded. It didn't have any of the original characters, and it introduced us to a whole new supernatural species. I liked Eve, and I liked that she wasn't a werewolf. I enjoyed the fact that for once, there was really no mating, bonding, pup talk. I know it seems odd especially since it is still part of this series, but it was almost a relief to know that the author could write about something else. I still really enjoyed Eve and Rafe. I'm still heartbroken over Damien and have been since the end of Bonded, but I'm glad to know that he seems to be moving forward! Poor Eve, I definitely hope there will be a check in on her in The Finding, because out of all the books I think she'll have the hardest transition especially since sh'es Fae and not Lycan. Overall another good book by the author and I"m looking forward to finishing up the series with The Finding!

Rafe McRae…are you serious?! Yummers!

Another great addition to the Law of the Lycans series; I swear it just keeps getting better and better. At this point, Nicky Charles can do no wrong.

Being stalked by a lone wolf has worried Eve, who rents a cabin out in the woods from Rafe. (Since she is a Fae and is empathic, she moved so that she wouldn’t hear all of the people in the city’s thoughts.) After telling Rafe what she has seen, he does some research and realizes that it could be Damien, a rogue werewolf in the area. Nervous for her safety, Rafe starts to take an interest in her well being all while trying to figure out why Damien is stalking Eve.

I was worried about why Damien was hanging around and so interested in Eve. If you read the series in order, Damien was Reno’s best friend from Lycan Link and helped him and Brandi out through their mess. Unfortunately, Damien stumbled on some hard time (well, very hard times) and went rogue. I didn’t want him to be bad in this book. I crossed my fingers and…..well, you will just have to read to see, won’t you?

There was great suspense and mystery that filled this book and also some steamy parts that made my toes curl. Charles brought in the characters Reno and Brandi (from Bonded) and it was awesome to see where they were in their relationship.

I really enjoy this series. Charles has been a consistently good writer. The stories are all well plotted with great suspense and complex plot lines There is always more going on than the main romance and the story arc has followed through in all the books. This is a series I wouldn't mind paying for
